Heston Blumenthal’s Dinner Restaurant, located in the posh Mandarin East Hyde Park, was created by the UK chef of the same name, the grandfather of molecular cuisine. You can taste fabulous dishes (in the true sense of the word), where the liver pâté takes on the appearance of a tangerine; The trompe-l’oeil is perfect. For dessert, pineapple cooked on a spit is one of the must-have dishes. As for the ice cream, it is served on a trolley in a magical cloud of liquid nitrogen. It all adds up to a very enjoyable experience that takes its inspiration from the history of British cuisine. We recommend it with your eyes closed.

Across the channel, this name rhymes with excellence. Clare Smith, whose reputation has continued to grow in recent years, is the UK’s only three-star chef. Hailing from Northern Ireland, the long-time executive chef at Gordon Ramsay’s three-star restaurant in London opened his own table, Core by Clare Smyth, in 2017. This gourmet restaurant in Notting Hill won its third Michelin star in 2021. Claire Smith’s signature seasonal British cuisine there, ultra-precise, beautifully presented, born of constant attention to produce. Hint. don’t miss her cherry and meringue desserts – a treat!

The Clove Club in Shoreditch. cool neighborhood and haute cuisine
This year again, Clove Club is in the top 50 of the annual ranking of the world’s 50 best restaurants. Run by chef and patron Isaac McHale, the Clove Club has a solid reputation, two Michelin stars and is housed in a listed building (it’s the old Town Hall in Shoreditch, a fashionable East London district). As for the Scottish chef’s cuisine, it is refined and delicious, and promotes local British produce; snapper from Orkney, lobster from Cornwall, strawberries from Kent in the summer… No doubt places are valuable security. Plus, the service is professional yet relaxed, and the atmosphere is casually chic.

The Berners Tavern. delicious cuisine in a beautiful setting
Luxurious and at the same time delicious, this address has everything. it will delight both lovers of good food and lovers of memorable places. Which Berners Tavern certainly is, with its elegant decor, high walls covered in pictures and frames, and undeniable showmanship. In fact, if the kitchen is impeccable (it is signed by the star chef Jason Atherton), then everything is in play in the dining room, where the service does not hesitate to put the small dishes in the big ones along with it. cheeses, in-room slicing of some dishes, and frozen desserts as beautiful as they are good that will be served up in front of you (this is the aptly named Flaming Alaska). Located on one of Shoreditch’s main arteries, Lyle’s has the advantage of serving quality cuisine (the establishment has one star) in an informal and relaxed environment. Chef-patron James Lowe signs off on a modern British bill with a focus on carefully sourced produce. Everything takes place in a minimalist, industrial and sober decor, surrounded by white walls. Advantages: the establishment offers a full vegetarian menu. Also, the classic menus change very regularly, sometimes from one day to the next.

No doubt Rochelle Canteen’s bucolic setting contributes to its aura. Sitting in a former school-turned-offices, the Rochelle eatery has a few tables in the open air where the venue’s playground used to be. Here you can have lunch or dinner surrounded by flowers, modern British cuisine mixed with European influences. The menu changes daily, in part or in full. If available, grab the braised lamb, mint and pea or mushroom quiche. Book in advance – places are always packed.
