seven members criminal group who were engaged in robbing passengers of public transport buses were arrested early Thursday morning during a police operation in the Lima district of San Martin de Porres (NSR).
The citizen claimed last night that he was the victim of the theft of his personal belongings, along with eight other people, when they mobilized aboard the city’s official vehicle at the height of José Granda and Proceres avenues.
Given this fact, National Police conducted an operation and arrested this group of thugs in Amalia Puga de Lozada Street, who were trying to escape by breaking into houses in the area.
The criminals were found to have stolen items such as cell phones, backpacks and wallets. In addition, firearms were confiscated from them, which, according to the statement, were used in the assault on the unit by two members of the specified criminal group.
Investigation
The detainees were transferred to Dirinkri for the identification process and other litigation.
Meanwhile, PPP Colonel Marco Conde Cuellar, head of the Robbery Investigation Unit, explained that there were three women among the thugs and one of them, according to social media posts, was selling firearms on those platforms.
