Pollution from smoke generated by a fire that struck a four-story building at Jirón Manuel Cisneros 608 in La Victoria has spread to three other areas of metropolitan Lima due to existing winds in the capital. This is reported by Senamhi in its air quality forecast three hours after the start of the incident.
Through their social media, the institution indicated that the pollutants caused by the Level 3 fire moved northwest from La Victoria due to winds of 4 km/h. Most affected areas Sercado de Lima, El Agustino and San Juan de Lurigancho.
closed fire
Oscar Ruiz, Deputy Division Commander Lima Center Fire Departmentreported RPP News who had problems completely extinguishing the fire due to the structure of the building. However, he noted that the fire was localized.

“There are four levels that harm the work of firefighters. Here the company is engaged in the production of yarn and the production of stockings, among other things, socks, is highly flammable and, unfortunately, on some levels it has a rather dangerous collection that it does not allow to reach some points. The third and fourth floors are still intact and for this we use power saws and industrial detergents,” he explained.
The fire started at 7:30 am, some of the people in the building were evacuated. The fire was supposed to have started in a nearby workshop but is still under investigation.
