The Peruvian National Police (PNP) confiscated over 87,000 counterfeit 100 sols and an entire clandestine counterfeit banknote factory in Comas.

The clandestine factory was located in a prefabricated house in the human settlement of Corazón de Dios, where the PPP found equipment, paint, and even a counterfeit banknote detector.

colonel pnp Peter RockHead of the III Northern Police Department, clarified RPP news that counterfeit banknotes will be distributed in Lima and in the provinces.

“These are denominations of 100 soles, which makes a total of 87,400 soles. In total, 151 plates and other materials and tools were used to make these banknotes,” he said.

“They had the luxury of having a banknote detection machine with which they did quality control,” PNP Colonel Roca added.

Subjects sold tickets at prices ranging from 15 sols to 20 sols each. Two people intervened at the scene, identified as William Hector Aniceto Baldeón (52) and Flor de Maria Rivas Huaman (42). They will be convicted of committing a crime against the financial and monetary order.
