If the drug works well to reduce fatigue, it may also help people with ME/CFS.

The UK has begun the first trial of a drug designed to address symptoms of fatigue and muscle weakness in more than half of people with long-term experience of the coronavirus. The Mirror writes about it.

This is AXA1125. It targets cellular powerhouses called mitochondria, which control various cellular processes in our body.

Studies have shown that lactic acid builds up faster in the muscles of these patients, thought to be due to mitochondrial dysfunction, making them sore and difficult to exercise.

Results from the Raman study are expected in mid-2022, and if the drug works well to reduce fatigue, it could also help people with ME/CFS.

It will be recalled that Ukraine received 2.3 million doses of the vaccine for the COVID-19 coronavirus produced by Pfizer-BioNTech from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), which was provided by the US government as part of the global COVAX initiative.
