Twitter plans to start charging for verification

Elon Musk intends to change the paid subscription to Twitter Blue and add more features to it.

Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk plans to introduce paid verification for $20 a month, or users without a premium subscription could miss the mark. This was reported by The Verge.

The company plans to upgrade from a $4.99-per-month Twitter Blue subscription that unlocks additional features to a higher-priced subscription that also verifies users, according to sources. The current plan charges $19.99 for a new subscription.

At the same time, if the user has been verified, he has 90 days to sign up for a paid subscription, otherwise he will be removed with a blue checkmark next to the profile name.

At the same time, Elon Musk told the employees working on the project that they must meet the deadline of November 7 to launch the feature, otherwise they will be fired.

It was previously reported that Elon Musk intends to close the deal to acquire Twitter on October 28.
