Moldovan radar stations did not detect fragments of the downed missile due to their small size.
The Ministry of Defense of Moldova said that their surveillance systems did not record a violation of the country’s airspace by a missile shot by the Ukrainian air defense and its fragments fell in the north of Moldova. Newsmaker reported this on Monday, October 31, citing the statement of the Moldovan Ministry of Defense.
“Regarding the incident, we inform you that the aerial surveillance systems of the National Army did not detect any illegal flights in the airspace of Moldova. It should be noted that the radar stations did not detect fragments of the downed missile because with their small size and small reflective surface,” the ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense added that sappers went to the place where the missile fell.
