Like the rest of the world, the mobile phone market in Peru declined in the first half of 2022.
A report by Dominio Consultores based on customs data indicates that imports increased from 5.27 million cell phones in the first half of 2021 to 3.91 million in the same period of 2022.
2022 was already expected to be a different year than 2021 when sales exceeded expectations, an atypical year.
“As a result of the pandemic, a lot of purchases were made in 2020, and in 2021, what was not bought in the previous year was bought,” Fernando Grados explained about the contraction of the market.
Cell phone imports: Samsung leads with consolidated Xiaomi
