Germany stopped selling cell phone brands one plus D Oppo throughout the country.

According to WinFuture, the decision comes in the midst of a patent lawsuit filed by nokiabrand of the Finnish company HMD Global.

Why is Nokia suing OnePlus and Oppo?

nokia notes that one plus D Oppo they use proprietary 5G technology in their phones.

Since the companies did not pay for these patents, nokia tried to argue in court that sales should be banned until the issue was resolved.

The German court ruled in favor of nokia, demanding one plus D Oppo pay for the use of patents in order to be able to sell their equipment in the country. Otherwise, you will have to remove 5G technology in the future.

The measure will affect only new cell phones: those who already have a cell phone of these brands will have no problems.

Can this measure be extended to the whole of Europe?

Currently, the ban only applies to Germany, but, theoretically, other countries in the region could take advantage of what the courts have indicated in support of nokia.

one plus D Oppo should try to make amends nokia resell their equipment, otherwise they may still remain in the region. Oppo agreed with the Finn to pay taxes on the affected patents back in 2018, but the relevant agreements have already expired.
