Samsung is preparing ammunition for the second half of the year, and the next announcements will focus on updating several products: the foldable Z Fold, the “toad” version of the Z Flip, and the Galaxy Watch. Rumors about these devices have been circulating for months, but those rumors may soon die down: it looks like there is an UNPACKED 2022 release date.
It was the effective “filter” Evan Blass announced the possible launch date for the Z Foild4, Z Flip4 and Galaxy Watch 5: August 10, the same day that the previous generation of devices was announced in 2021.
This data is in line with a forecast by Jon Prosser in early June, who also indicated that Samsung was going to hold its classic presentation on August 10th.
Samsung has not confirmed the date of this presentation event, nor the way it will be held. However, it coincides with the schedule of all brand announcements for the second half of the year; which for years was the high point for the introduction of the Note line and, from 2021, the company’s foldable smartphone.
What is Samsung Galaxy UNPACKED?
Samsung’s UNPACKED is the name that identifies the brand’s announcements throughout the year, though the AWESOME name is also reserved for mid-range A-series phones. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNPACKED events in 2020 had to be broadcast remotely.
Samsung’s most recent UNPACKED event was held in San Francisco to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S20 generation and the original Galaxy Z Flip.
There are usually two UNPACKED events per year. The first is held between February and March due to the introduction of the S series, like the recent S22, and in August the strategy was changed to announce foldable phones to replace the canceled Note series.
Samsung Galaxy UNPACKED 2022: what will be presented
Rumors point to an upgraded version of Samsung’s foldable phones: the Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4. In addition, two versions of smartwatches are expected: the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro.
In terms of sound, it is likely that we will have a new generation of Galaxy Buds Pro. In the last UINPACKED held on February 9, no new versions of the Galaxy Buds were announced. Samsung currently offers up to three different versions: the Buds Live, the Galaxy Buds 2, and the “flagship” Galaxy Buds Pro.
