The company has previously acknowledged that its coronavirus vaccine can cause side effects, such as blood clots.
British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca is recalling its COVID-19 vaccine worldwide due to “over-access to improved vaccines” since the pandemic began. Reuters wrote this on Wednesday, May 8.
The manufacturer also announced that it will stop registering the Vaxzevria vaccine in Europe.
“As several types of COVID-19 vaccines are being developed, there is an oversupply of vaccines beyond what is available at the current stage,” the company said.
AstraZeneca noted that this led to a drop in demand for the Vaxzevria vaccine, which is now no longer manufactured and distributed.
AstraZeneca has previously admitted that its vaccine can cause side effects, including blood clots and low levels of blood platelets.
We remind you that the first cases of the unknown coronavirus were first discovered in China in December 2019, the virus has spread rapidly throughout the world.
