US President Donald Trump is preparing new sanctions against the Russian “shadow fleet”.
Currently, the State Administration is considering additional sanctions against the national fleet of the country of the aggressor, if by August 8 it does not agree with the cessation of fire in Ukraine. This was reported by Financial Times.
It is noted that the new US sanctions will strengthen the recent sanctions of the European Union against this fleet. There are already 415 ships in the sanctions lists.
According to FT, Trump is increasingly disappointed with Putin’s refusal to agree to a ceasefire and put an ultimatum to the Russian leader to change the tactics by August 8. The decision on new sanctions will probably be made after the special representative of the United States Steve Witkoff will return from Moscow.
Recall that on the morning of August 6, a special representative of the United States of America Steve Vitkoff arrived in Moscow, where it is planned to meet with the Russian leadership.
