The new rocket has a length of 43 meters and the launch weight is about 215 tons. It is capable of delivering a payload weighing about 2.4 tons to a 500-kilometer orbit.
China made the first launch of the Long March-6C launch vehicle, a new model in this family of rockets. It launched four satellites into low-Earth orbit, CGTN television channel reported on Tuesday, May 7.
The rocket took off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern China’s Shanxi Province at 11:21 am local time (6:21 am Kyiv time).
The Long March-6C is said to be developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and is a two-stage design with a liquid oxygen and kerosene engine.
The new rocket is 43 meters long and has a launch weight of about 215 tons and is capable of delivering a payload weighing about 2.4 tons to a 500-kilometer low-Earth orbit.
“One of the attractions of the rocket is its adjustable satellite payload fairings, which allow it to accommodate satellites of different sizes. This flexibility makes the rocket suitable for different needs and specific mission requirements,” it said.
Let’s remember that on May 3, China launched the Chanye-6 lunar probe over the far side of the Moon. He must collect and deliver satellite rock samples to Earth.
China has published the world’s first complete geological atlas of the Moon
