The craft will collect data on the lunar surface ahead of planned future human missions.

The Peregrine lander, which was launched on Monday, January 8, developed a fuel leak. So it starts losing solar energy after 40 hours. About that reported developer company Astrobotic Technology on social network X.

While the orientation of the solar panel towards the Sun for charging the battery is maintained using side motors. The main engines are completely off.

“If the maneuvering thrusters remain operational, we believe the spacecraft will be able to remain in a sun-oriented state for approximately 40 hours, depending on current fuel consumption,” the report said.

It is also reported that the most important task of the Peregrine module is to get as close to the Moon as possible before losing the opportunity to orient to the Sun and recharge.

It was previously reported that NASA demonstrated the classical nova phenomenon. It is also called a mass flash.
