This is the second successful launch of China’s largest solid-propellant rocket Lijian-1.
China launched the Lijian-1 Y2 solid-propellant launch vehicle into space, carrying 26 experimental satellites into orbit. This was reported by Xinhua.
The launch was carried out on June 7 from the Jiuquan Space Center in northwest China.
This is the second successful launch of China’s latest Lijian-1 rocket. It is China’s largest solid rocket. Its total height is 31 meters, its maximum diameter is 2.65 meters, and its takeoff weight is 135 tons.
The satellites will be used for commercial Earth remote sensing information services and technology verification.
The Lijian-1 four-stage launch vehicle is China’s largest solid rocket. It is capable of launching a payload of about 1,500 kg into a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 km.
This year, China aims to carry out more than 60 space launches, including programs for exploring the moon and finding new planets.
It will be recalled that in July last year, China launched the first Lijian-1 carrier rocket, which launched six satellites into orbit.
