“We are still assessing what happened. We are talking to the Ukrainians. The damage and destruction we are seeing is heartbreaking. We will do everything to help the people of Ukraine. This dam is under control of Russia. And they are responsible for the destruction caused by this war,” said Jean-Pierre.
Recall that on the night of June 6, the Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. As a result, the hydroelectric power plant was completely destroyed by the waves of the Kakhovka reservoir.
About 80 settlements are in the flood zone. There is an evacuation of the population. In total, 16 thousand people are in the critical zone on the right bank of the Dnieper.
