In other excavations, researchers have already found a blanket, but this is the first time an entire bed has been preserved.
In northern Greece, near the city of Kozani, archaeologists have discovered the skeleton of a woman who lived in the first century BC. He was lying on a bronze bed. The Greek Reporter writes about it.
It has been noticed that this is the first time that archaeologists have excavated a person buried in this way in Greece.
Most beds with symbols of the Greek god Apollo were made of brass. The wooden parts of the bed have rotted.
The woman’s identity is still being ascertained. However, expensive things were buried around him. The head of the skeleton is decorated with golden laurel leaves. Perhaps they were woven into a crown.
It was found that the woman was of middle age and may have belonged to a religious community or royal family.

Recall that earlier British archaeologists found a Roman community in Fleet Marston, north-west London. There are 425 graves with decapitated bodies in the cemetery.
