The head of the Pentagon discussed with the Ukrainian counterpart the current needs of the Ukrainian military and the situation on the battlefield.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin conducted a telephone conversation with Ukraine’s Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov, in which he discussed Kyiv’s defense needs. Austin reported this on Twitter.
“I discussed with my colleague Oleksiy Reznikov the needs of the Ukrainian military. I reaffirmed our continued support in transferring the necessary capabilities to Ukraine to counter the Russian aggression,” Austin wrote.
The head of the Pentagon also informed the Ukrainian minister about further coordination of the United States and its allies and partners in joint efforts on the issue of security assistance to Ukraine.
In turn, Reznikov shared with Austin his analysis of the situation on the battlefield in eastern Ukraine.

The other day, the US president urged Congress to immediately pass the Ukrainian bill for additional funding and put it on his table in the next few days.
