The military equipment will be ready for transfer within three weeks, but still needs permission from the government.
Concerned German defense Rheinmetall is ready to move the first Marder infantry fighters to Ukraine within a few weeks. However, this requires an appropriate decision of the country’s government. This was stated by the head of the company Armin Papperger in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung, published on Tuesday, May 10.
According to him, Rheinmetall started working on the machines four weeks ago, but there is still no definite order.
“We can provide a total of 100 Marders in the medium term, the first will be ready in three weeks. We are waiting for the decision of the federal government,” – he said.
At the same time, Papperger noted that now there are enough countries that want these vehicles, not just Ukraine.
It was previously reported that Germany would provide Ukraine with seven Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers from Bundeswehr stocks.
