The researchers found in the source code instagram links to a paid account verification system for the platform.

The discovery was made by reverse engineering expert Alessandro Paluzzi, who noted that the code clearly refers to a “paid blue badge” and a new subscription product.

what is known

The engineer shared TechCrunch screenshots with a link to the subscription service. They also read “identity verification”.

In addition, the developer noted that he found other links to a new type of subscription product that did not exist before. He noted that the same links were in one of the latest versions of the Facebook application.

However, Paluzzi cautioned that nothing is visible in the app yet other than these small code references, so we can only speculate about these findings for now.

Unlike other possibilities, instagram he did not comment on this discovery.
