He Government published on Tuesday an emergency decree that allocates more than 209 million soles of funding for immediate action in the regions announced in state of emergency due to intense rains, landslides and floods recorded in recent months in various parts of the country and which, according to weather forecasts, will continue in the coming weeks.

The order is valid until the end of the year.
The decree in exceptional cases authorizes regional and local authorities to make changes to the budget to finance activities for the maintenance of equipment and machinery that allow immediate action “to eliminate imminent danger and emergencies.”
Besides, Executive warns that “the specification holders under this emergency ordinance are responsible for its proper implementation, and for the use or assignment of resources included in the application of this emergency ordinance, in accordance with applicable regulations,” the executive order warns.
In this sense, he points out that the resources that are transferred under the emergency decree “cannot be used under liability for purposes other than those for which they are transferred or authorized.”
The decree, signed by President Dina Boluarte, President of the Council of Ministers Alberto Otarola and Economy Ministers Alex Contreras and Defense Ministers Jorge Chávez Crossa, is valid until December 31, 2023.
