Education Minister Oscar Becerra formalizes appointment Manuel Enemesio Castillo Venegas as the new Chief of the National Authority for Higher University Education (Suneda), replacing Oswaldo Zegarra.
As established by Ministerial Decree no. 131-2023-Minedu, election of a new superintendent led the new Board of Directors of Sunedu, which was created last Friday, the 17th, with only four members out of seven, despite requests made institutions that have not yet chosen their representatives.
At yesterday’s meeting, on Thursday, the 23rd, the Board of Directors decided to elect Manuel Castillowhile waiting for the other three organizations to choose their representatives. It should be noted that the election must be approved at the forthcoming meeting in the presence of seven members.

Controversial board setting
Last Friday, February 17, a new board of directors of the organization was formed, which, according to Law 31520should consist of seven members.

August 24 at rector of San Marcos invited Américo Guevara, president of said association, to present the credentials of the two elected members.
