Artists are urged to stop listening to Russian content, as its promotion affects the financing of the war against Ukraine.
Against the background of the fact that the songs of performers from the Russian Federation remain on the tops of music platforms, the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra launched the initiative “Musical Mobilization of Ukraine”. They announced it on Instagram.
In particular, the winners of Eurovision 2022 explained that by listening to the tracks or watching clips of the artists of the aggressor country, they promote this war, because Russian performers receive certain profits from listening and, accordingly, paying taxes to Russia, which uses to destroy the cities of Ukraine.
“If Russian dominates the trends on YouTube, on streaming platforms, at the moment there is a cultural occupation in Ukraine. Music is also a weapon. And here we do not need a lend-lease to fight Russian content. to expel them in our speakers. and ears. Therefore, right now we are announcing the musical mobilization of Ukraine! Who is with us – he hastened the end of the war in Ukraine!” – said team leader Oleg Psyuk.
So, the Kalush Orchestra has prepared an instruction where you can learn how to get rid of Russian music. In addition, to update their playlist, musicians choose popular tracks of Ukrainian artists.
