National Opera archivist Larisa Tarasenko told how the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleksandr Shapoval died. He revealed this in an interview with Focus.
According to him, it happened around five in the morning during the battles near Maiorsk, Donetsk region.
“At five o’clock in the morning on September 12, there was a strong attack – and Sasha died with his partner. They came under mortar fire. His partner died an hour and a half later, and Sasha died immediately,” he said.
Larisa Tarasenko also added that on the second day of the full-scale war, the soloist of the National Opera ballet decided to join the defense, after driving the invaders from Kyiv, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He then ended up at the front near Gorlovka, where he was taught how to use a hand grenade launcher.
Recall that on September 12, Alexander Shapoval died in a battle with the invaders.
