About choosing the campaign
Second anhamonethe campaign will also seek to contribute to greater personal and collective vigilance over the sexual violence that affects women on a daily basis, but which is gaining more volume and, at times, has its occurrences trivialized in major popular events, such as Lavagem do Bonfim:
“An estimated one million devotees travel in procession to the Sacred Hill every year. In this scenario, criminal occurrences explode as a reflection of a sexist society, causing the profession of faith to give way to violence, which may be seen as permissible in the party context, but which are not in the absence of consent from the woman and /or legal prohibitions, as some practices are not admissible under any circumstances, such as those in which violence is presumed due to the age of the victim, for example”, he explained.
