The celebrity visited Kyiv and was fascinated by the courage of the Ukrainians and their gentle spirit. He was amazed by the architecture of the city.

American actor Michael Douglas, who was an invited guest of the fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, shared his impressions of Kyiv.

He noted that his ideas about Kyiv are completely different. He expected to see something like East Germany during the Berlin Wall, but he was amazed by the modern metropolis.

“Incredible culture, amazing restaurants and amazing energy. Due to the circumstances, there was a small amount of destruction, however, we saw a children’s hospital, the largest in Ukraine, completely destroyed. It’s clear here that it’s not a mistake,” he said.

He was especially struck by the courage of the Ukrainians: “What kind of people there are, an incredible spirit. It’s an incredible place and a great reminder to all of us about the importance of freedom, democracy and how we have to work for them.”
