The Postgraduate Program in Public Health at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo (FCMSCSP), in partnership with the Center for Research in Human Rights and Health of the LGBT+ Population (NUDHES), will hold a Special Research Seminar on September 12. The event, free and open to the public, will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm, in the FAVC Auditorium, at Rua Dona Veridiana, 55.

The seminar will present the preliminary results, lessons learned and challenges from four years of field work in the Manas por Manas Research, which studies prevention and self-care methods among transvestites and trans women in Brazil, with a focus on HIV testing and the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

The event will feature the participation of Prof. Dr. Maria Amelia Veras, national coordinator of the project, and the international coordinators, Dr. Jae Sevelius, from Columbia University, and Dr. Sheri Lippman, from the University of California. Researchers, health professionals, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community are invited to participate.
