Banksy has unveiled a new mural outside London Zoo featuring a gorilla setting animals free, continuing a series of works that have sparked admiration and debate.
Last week, the little-known British artist Banksy created seven new graffiti on the streets of London, and earlier this week he added two more. Sky News reported this.
On Tuesday, August 13, he shared a photo of a new drawing on the fence of the London Zoo, in which a gorilla appears to be freeing other animals.
The zoo’s media manager, Rebecca Blanchard, said the mural, located at the zoo’s entrance, will be accessible to visitors and, in her opinion, will “bring joy and fun to London.” At the same time, Banksy’s followers on Instagram joke that the fence with the pattern may have been stolen, as happened with other works of the artist.
A day earlier, Banksy confirmed the authorship of another mural, in which a rhinoceros climbs an old Nissan Micra. This work was destroyed the same day at night by an unknown person in a black balaclava, who painted over the drawing. Witnesses told the BBC that the incident lasted less than 30 seconds.
