The singer filed a lawsuit seeking compensation in the amount of six million dollars from the man’s family.
World famous singer Katy Perry is in the middle of a legal conflict with 84-year-old US Army veteran Carl Westcott and his family. The Daily Mail reported this.
Carl Westcott, a former member of the Airborne Brigade, is now in serious condition due to Huntington’s disease. In 2020, she agreed to sell her eight-bedroom home to Perry for $15 million. However, a few days after the deal, he tried to break it, claiming that he was under the influence of painkillers when signing the contract. The court found the agreement to be legal, and at the end of last year Perry became the legal owner of the property.
The singer then filed a counterclaim, seeking $6 million in compensation from Westcott’s family for home renovations and rent.
A friend of the plaintiffs said: “He’s obviously trying to get every last dollar out of Carl’s family without the slightest bit of compassion at the expense of an old man’s inheritance. the shirt off his back.’ What he can’t do is look them all in the eye while doing it.”
The trial, which was scheduled to take place in July, was postponed at the request of Westcott’s family lawyers. This is after Katy Perry hired 25 experts to thoroughly look for defects in the house. Based on the results of the audit, the experts found that the 2-hectare area requires the repair of water pipes and restoration of the building damaged as a result of the fall of an oak tree.
It was previously reported that Katy Perry may know the truth about her ex-husband, comedian Russell Brand, who was accused of rape and sexual harassment the other day.
