Initiatives aim to combat prejudice and promote the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community
The Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC) announced an investment of R$8.5 million for the development of public policies aimed at combating prejudice and discrimination, in addition to promoting the rights of LGBTQIA+ people.
In this month of June, when LGBTQIA+ Pride is celebrated, minister Silvio Almeida, at the São Paulo Parade, on the 2nd, highlighted the launch of three programs planned by the National Secretariat for the Rights of LGBTQIA+ People: Acolher+, Empodera+ and Bem Viver+ .
“It is the presentation of a set of public policies aimed at Brazilian citizens, who are commonly abandoned and forgotten by society and the Brazilian State”, stated Silvio Almeida.
