The single European currency is getting cheaper after the results of the European Parliament elections are published.
The official exchange rate of the dollar in Ukraine is growing for the third day. Instead, the euro fell sharply against the hryvnia. This was confirmed by data on the National Bank website on Monday, June 10.
Thus, the dollar exchange rate for tomorrow is set at 40.4246 UAH per dollar (+0.1761 UAH). In turn, the euro on Tuesday cost 43.4726 UAH (-0.3983 UAH).
Today, on the interbank market, the price of the American currency rose by 20 kopecks – to 40.47-40.49 UAH/dollar (buying and selling) compared to the previous day’s close.
Meanwhile, in exchange offices the dollar rate increased by 15 kopecks to 40.80 hryvnia.
Earlier on Monday it became known that the results of the European Parliament elections lowered the euro exchange rate against the dollar. Market analysts see this as a blow to the emerging positive sentiment towards the euro.
It was also reported that in May, Ukrainians bought a record amount of money. The currency’s buying volume exceeded its selling volume by $1.04 billion.
Meanwhile, the National Bank explained the reasons for the sharp increase in the dollar exchange rate in May. According to the regulator, demand for foreign currency jumped 41% last month.
