The actress stressed the importance of supporting diverse cultural content, even in times of war.
Ukrainian actress Olga Sumskaya said she will play a role in Yuri Gorbunov’s series “Rough Neighbors”. He shared this on the same Razmik podcast.
The star noted that his colleague, the artist Yuri Gorbunov, withstood the strong and merciless hatred that he faced because of his previous projects.
Sumskaya also recalled the scandal in Gorbunov’s series PGT Ingulets. In 2023, Gorbunov was in the spotlight for receiving 33 million hryvnias from the state budget for the filming of this series. After a wave of criticism, he refused government funding. In an interview with Alina Dorotyuk, Gorbunov explained that funds from donor countries intended for culture cannot be used for military needs.
Sumskaya also spoke about changes in actor fees. According to him, they have split, and the actors agree to such conditions because of the difficulties faced by film producers and production companies. He emphasized that even a small budget for the series is a significant achievement in the current environment.
“People react very strongly to any entertainment content. Today, everything can be clearly monitored, and it causes an explosion in social networks. We should praise our military as heroes defending our native Ukraine. But there should be a different genre of content,” said the actress.
We remind you that earlier grief happened to the family of Olga Sumskaya.
