“I’ve never been so happy in my life! I wake up happy, I’m a happy person! After the transition, I love myself!”
“People don’t understand how transphobic comments like ‘I need to hear Maya Massafera’s voice to see something’ and ‘after the transition she became mute’ are. Respect and patience”, wrote a user on X, formerly Twitter.
“Stop demanding that Maya Massafera show her face without makeup, reveal her voice, show this or that. She will show you when she feels most comfortable, if she wants to. Respect each person’s moment”, added another.
Last Wednesday (22), the influencer herself explained why she has been more absent from social media. “I spent months in bed, without strength, and I don’t know how I would have managed without that time for myself. One of the things that affects me the most is dysphoria. Remember that I speak only for myself, Maya. I don’t represent all trans people, don’t generalize. To begin, I need to explain my state of mind. I have never been so happy in my life! I wake up happy, I’m a happy person! After transitioning, I love myself!,” she said.
“Talking to my doctors and psychologist, I understood that my ‘happiness’ is the normal state of most people. Those who are born and identify with the body they have live like this. I will probably get used to my gender and this happiness will become normal, as it is for you,” she explained.
“Although I am very happy, in my happiness, sometimes I have moments of extreme joy and other times of sadness. Like everyone! Sometimes, out of nowhere or for some reason, I have very severe dysphoria. This started when I started my transition. Doctors told me it’s normal for many trans girls in the early years of transition. Sometimes the dysphoria is so intense that I prefer to be alone and not be seen by anyone,” she added.
