In October 2021, during filming, the actor shot cameraman Galina Hutchins. He died in the hospital.
Alec Baldwin has been charged with manslaughter as prosecutors once again try to hold the actor accountable for the on-set death of Ukrainian cameraman Galina Hutchins. It is reported by different types.
The screen star was first charged in January 2023. But they were dropped three months later after his defense team raised questions about whether his Colt .45-caliber pistol was working when fired.
Baldwin himself said he did not pull the trigger. However, if found guilty, the actor faces up to 18 months in prison.
Two special prosecutors, Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis, submitted the gun for further forensic testing last summer and concluded that the gun could only have gone off by pulling the trigger.
“This fatal incident resulted from the hammer being manually pulled back and into the cocked position, followed at some point by the trigger being pulled or pulled back. Although Alec Baldwin has repeatedly denied that he pulled the trigger, because of the results and surveillance, the hammer must be pulled or the trigger must be pulled hard enough to release the fully cocked or retracted hammer of the evidence revolver,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the film’s gunsmith, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, will appear in court on February 21 for the charges of involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. Gutierrez Reed mistakenly put a live bullet in Baldwin’s pistol, which was supposed to contain only dummies.
It was previously reported that a gun watcher on the set of Alec Baldwin’s film Rust was probably hungover the day a Ukrainian cameraman was fatally shot.
