The star was on a cruise to Antarctica and an icebreaker was spotted traveling from the Akademik Vernadsky station in Chile near King George Island. Through UNITED24 he contacted the crew and requested a meeting.
“Captain Noosphere Alexander Grishko readily agreed, and within a few hours Liev boarded the Ukrainian flagship. Of course, the main topic of the short conversation was the full-scale war in Ukraine and the ability of our state to develop science and research in the Antarctic even in these conditions,” said the National Antarctic Science Center.
In memory of his visit, the actor left a note in Ukrainian: “Captain Grishko and the crew Noosphere thank you for your hospitality, but more than just the pride of raising the flag and reminding the world how strong we are. Putin is an idiot!!!”
