The judge said he found evidence of hacking to obtain information such as medical records or bank details.
Prince Harry has won a victory in the case of hacking his phone to obtain information for publication in newspapers by the British media holding Mirror Group Newspapers. Time reported it.
The youngest son of King Charles III is suing the newspaper group, which includes the Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and People, over more than 33 articles from 1996 to 2009 that he says were illegally obtained.
The judge ruled that 15 of the 33 articles were obtained through phone hacking or other illegal means. Judge Fancourt said the hacking happened between 2003 and 2009.
Prince Harry received 140,600 pounds sterling ($179,763) in damages after a judge ruled that newspaper directors “turned a blind eye and willfully concealed” the illegal collection of information.
In turn, Mirror Group lawyers denied these accusations in court, calling them “speculation.”
It was previously reported that Prince Harry said he and Meghan Markle were “forced” to step down from royal duties and move to the United States.
