Star of ‘Mar Sertão’, Matteus Cardoso opened the game and spoke about mental health care
Matthew Cardosoin Sertão Seaopened the game and spoke about mental health care and also commented on his relationship with social media
“I am extremely attentive to mental health. I try to take care of myself with affection, mind and body. I’ve suffered a lot with anxiety and therapy helped me mature and decompress things that I kept in imaginary closets for a long time. Theater is a very therapeutic space where I find many challenges and cures, and the constant physical training helps me contain anxiety and maintain good skeletal function.”said the actor and screenwriter.
The actor, who played Joel Leiteiro in ‘Mar do Sertão’, also spoke about his relationship with social media and admitted that he does not respond to haters.
“I think of the internet a bit like a stage where we perform, you can’t get on there without preparing yourself, keeping yourself safe and closing yourself off a little. On the internet we find a very direct form of dialogue, listening directly to what the other person thinks, for better or for worse. That’s why I absorb both praise and criticism with a lot of filter. And I only interact at the republican and democratic level, if the approach is aggressive or unreasonable I just ignore it, I don’t waste my time with haters. I like to talk as equals. An honest and pertinent criticism sometimes improves our work”said.
He confessed that he has already thought about leaving the digital space and revealed that applying labor legislation when consuming social networks
“Not only did I think about leaving the networks, but sometimes I actually do. I spend about two or three days without logging in or posting because I get fed up. I apply labor legislation to social media: use six days and rest for one, or something like that. But I don’t consider being without it because today it is also a place of work for me”he spoke.
The actor also denied the increase in charges after debuting on Rede Globo and reinforced that the search for technical improvement needs to be constant.
“I didn’t feel the pressure increase after the soap opera, but that’s because I believe I always put a lot of pressure on myself in the theater. I think that the actor’s search for technical improvement needs to be constant, you can’t stop wanting to improve. So I continue to demand a lot from myself, as I always did at work. The actor’s work is corporal, it is intensely physical and also emotional. Improvement is constant and the notion that we can always improve and change too”, finished.
