The Weeknd plans to change his stage name

Canadian performer The Weeknd, who entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most famous artist in the world, announced the decision to change his stage name. He spoke about it in an interview with W Magazine.

So, the 33-year-old performer said that he is working on the last album of his alter ego. Then he plans to create compositions under his real name – Abel Makkonen.

“I’m still going to make music. Probably like Abel, maybe like The Weeknd, but I want to end up being late and I’m finally going to do it. Right now I’m trying to shed my skin and be born again. The album that I working, will be the last from The Weeknd. On behalf of this artist, I said everything I could,” he said.

It was previously reported that Canadian artist The Weeknd’s song has set a listening record on streaming service Spotify.
