The European Parliament agreed to help Moldova for 145 million euros

Assistance in the amount of 45 million euros in grants and up to 100 million euros in loans will be provided in two tranches.

The European Parliament supported the proposal of the European Commission to support the Moldovan government in stabilizing the economic situation. EP deputies approved additional macro-financial assistance to Moldova in the amount of 145 million euros to cover the country’s financing needs in 2023. This was reported by the press service of the EU Legislative Assembly.

It was noted that assistance in the amount of 45 million euros in the form of grants and up to 100 million euros in the form of loans will be provided in two tranches scheduled for the third and fourth quarter of 2023, subject to the fulfillment by Chisinau of ” certain political conditions”.

These are reforms of the justice system, the rule of law and the fight against corruption, as well as progress in implementing the macroeconomic program of the International Monetary Fund.

It was previously reported that a mission was being created in the EU to strengthen Moldova’s security.

Recall that the EU will allocate 40 million euros to Moldova for defense development.
