Charles III ascended the British throne at the age of 73 after the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.
Since the coronation on May 6 at Westminster Abbey in London, Buckingham Palace has released the first official portraits of Great Britain’s King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla.
A total of four pictures were taken. The photographer is Hugo Bernand.
In the first picture, Charles is seated in the imperial state crown and plume, and in his hands he holds a sovereign ball and a scepter with a cross on a throne chair made in 1902, made for future King George V.
The second photo shows the Queen Consort in the Green Drawing Room, wearing a white silk dress embroidered with gold and silver thread. In the third, their Majesties are depicted together.
Members of the royal family pose in the fourth photo: Duke of Kent, Duchess of Gloucester, Duke of Gloucester, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence, Princess Anne, Prince William of Wales, Princess Kate of Wales, Duchess of Edinburgh.
