April traditionally has 30 days, of which 20 days will be working days, and ten are official days off.
Easter is one of the most important religious holidays in Ukraine, celebrated annually at the end of April or beginning of May. This holiday is celebrated as a memorial date for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, an event central to the Christian faith.
On this day, believers go to church for morning services to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. After the church service, many families prepare a traditional Easter dinner, consisting of eggs, Easter and other foods.
In general, Easter in Ukraine is a holiday that combines religious, cultural and family traditions and plays an important role in the life of the Ukrainian people.
Usually, Easter, which this year falls on April 16, is a public holiday. Therefore, there should be a day off for Easter in Ukraine. However, under martial law, in accordance with Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine On the Organization of Labor Relations under Martial Law, Article 73 of the Labor Code is canceled on all holidays and weekends.
So, there will be no three-day break in 2023, which is familiar to Ukrainians. However, a holiday for Easter is possible if martial law is lifted before April 16.
On Sunday, February 19, 2023, martial law in Ukraine was extended until May 18.
