In addition, the pine cone is an excellent power supplybecause it is rich in carbohydrates. According to the nutritionist, the food helps to control blood pressure and prevent cramps, as it is a source of potassium. The professional also claims to be “a good source of vitamin C, which acts in immunity as an antioxidant and in the natural production of collagen”.

When choosing which pine cone to buy, it is important to observe the firmness of the fruit’s skin, which must be soft, yet firm and without liquid leakage. “The sweeter aroma and the softer skin may indicate that the pine cone is already more mature and will need to be consumed quickly”, advises Renata.
