Have you ever thought about being a member of a family where everyone has gifts? This is the case of Mirabel Madrigal, the protagonist of ‘Encanto’, an animation released in 2021, which begins with the presentation of the escape of Alma and Pedro, the patriarchs of the Madrigal family, who leave their hometown alongside their three newborn children. born after an armed conflict broke out.

In search of a safe place, the couple ends up having their plans destroyed when they are approached by robbers who end up taking Pedro’s life. But, even if everything seems lost, Alma is presented with an enchanted candle, which grants unique gifts to her children and grandchildren, and allows her to build her home in the mountains of Colombia, in a village that receives the name of Encanto, where she and his family help form a large community.

Inside the village, there was the Casita, the residence of the Madrigals, where Alma lives happy and good years next to her family, even though the blessing that was granted to her made her develop a deep fear of losing the miracle that made her to see a future in the midst of chaos, — fear that made her push away one of her granddaughters, Mirabel, the only one in the Madrigal family who did not have a gift.

Even with the conflicts, peace still reigned in the place, until it was threatened when the Casita began to show cracks, as a symbol that the harmony between the family members was no longer in perfect condition and could fall apart. Thus, Mirabel, the only member of the Madrigal without any power, decides to solve the problem, reuniting with her uncle Bruno, and proving that love can fix and build anything.

But, what would have happened if Mirabel and Bruno didn’t save the casita? The doubt was clarified by Jared Bushthe director of ‘Encanto’, through a response given to an internet user on Twitter in June 2022.

This because, Sara Amelia Morales (@AnimalmagicM15) asked the filmmaker what could happen if Mirabel and Bruno had just left the village where the Madrigal family lived and never returned.
