Actor Antonio Fagundes spoke about the importance of LGBTQIA+ themes in his son’s play
Antonio Fagundes attended the premiere of the play The Inheritancea performance that addresses issues of the LGBTQIA+ community and stars Bruno Fagundesyour son, and Reynaldo Gianecchini.
During the premiere event, the actor spoke about the importance of addressing these issues in productions.
“Whenever possible, it is important to raise any kind of discussion. Society still resists accepting some things that we already thought had been accepted many decades ago, and now we are realizing that they are a little behind”he told the press.
Sincere, the artist confessed that he went to watch the show as a spectator and did not want to know more details about the play.
“I didn’t know anything, I didn’t even want to read it, I came as a spectator, to have a critical distance. Although at the time we can’t, it’s a father, right?”, he completes, laughing”he said.
The actor said that a father’s heart is always looking forward to his son’s success: “We are always nervous. But I have a lot of confidence in him. He has very good taste in writing, so I am calm about the result.”
“It’s certainly going to be very good. Let’s see if it lasts a long time, because it’s a challenge, a marathon, something nice to watch”finished.
The play, which lasts six hours and is divided into two acts, tells the story of a couple from different generations. Eric, played by Bruno, is a young man wounded from a previous relationship and Henry, played by Gianecchini, is a conservative man dealing with issues raised by HIV in the 1980s.
The cast has 25 characters played by 12 actors, namely: Miriam Mehler, Marco Antônio Pâmio, Rafael Primot, André Torquato, Felipe Hintze, Cleomácio Inácio, Davi Tápias, Haroldo Miklos, Wallace Mendes, Gabriel Lodi and Rafael Américo
