His most famous participation was in the battle for Kosmach in January 1945, when the rebels destroyed an entire NKVD punitive regiment.
Ukrainian musician Oleksandr Polozhinsky, who joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, admitted that he knew the UPA centenarian Miroslav Simchich, who died on Wednesday, January 18. He announced this on Instagram.
So, the former member of the Tartak group said that he was with Simchich in Kosmach, and also visited him and his wife Raisa in Vyzhny Berezov.
“Somehow I brought Mr. Miroslav to Kosmach for Easter. On the way, we stopped at the battle site of Rushir and my friend Oleg and I listened to the story of this glorious battle. Then, at the celebration in Kosmach, Mr. Miroslav was very well received and respected, and I am sincerely glad that I arranged such a celebration for the old man,” he said.
Oleksandr Polozhinsky also added that Miroslav Simchich came to the musicians in Lutsk for the Banderstat festival.
“In general, the man was like a rock – great strength and will, clearly unshakable principles. The greatness of the personality was felt almost physically. The moment of meeting him on the threshold of his Kolomyia apartment was one of the most vivid memories of my life. Honor to the world, our glorious Hero! Eternal honor !”, – summed up the artist.
Earlier it was reported that Alexander Polozhinsky, who defends the country on the front line, admitted that he could not become an officer.
