He wrote a motivational appeal to Ukrainians. The video was published by the state organization UNITED24.
“Dear Ukrainians, fellow citizens of the world, my name is Martin Scorsese and I am sending this message just to say that you are not alone. We admire your courage, perseverance, resilience and extraordinary, amazing determination to in front of this barbarism. , this unspeakable barbarism,” the cinematographer began.
He compared the strength of the spirit of the Ukrainian people to the light that should lead us through the darkness and crime of the Russian Federation. He also emphasized that the stability of Ukrainians is the light of the whole world.
“In this moment, your spirit, the strength of your spirit is like light. It is the light of the whole world. And I pray that it is bright enough to carry you through this darkness,” Scorsese said.
As you know, the director was born on November 17, 1942 in New York. He is known as the master of gangster tapes and continues to work with Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and editor Thelma Schoonmaker.
