‘Merlin’: Netflix releases first image of the Addams Family in Tim Burton series

Netflix showed the first image of what the Addams Family will look like in the next series, which will focus on “Wednesday’, better known in Latin America as “Merlin”. The production doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but it’s expected to arrive in late year or early 2023.

“Merlinarrives under the direction of acclaimed American director Tim Burton, who will make his debut on the streaming platform with a fantasy about a dark teenager played by actress Jenna Ortega.

The cast also includes Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Homer Addams and Isaac Ordóñez as Pugsley, Merlina’s brother known as Pericles.

What is the series “Merlin” about?

“The story revolves around an intriguing supernatural mystery that spans years Merlin Addamas a student at Nevermore Academy,” reads the description of the series, which will consist of eight episodes.

“She attempts to master her psychic powers, stop a monstrous murder spree that has terrorized the city, and unravel the supernatural mystery her parents faced 25 years ago, all while exploring her complicated new relationship in Nevermore,” the text reads.

“There’s something Burton did to make sure the show didn’t feel like a remake or a reboot,” series co-creator Miles Millar told Vanity Fair. “We didn’t want to try to be ’60s movies or TV series because that was very important to us and to Tim,” he added.

Christina Ricci will also join Merlina.

According to Deadline, Ricci will appear in the project on a regular basis, so it is excluded that his presence will be limited to a cameo.
