Fires in Los Angeles hit the home of Miles Teller, actor from ‘Divergent’, and cause postponements of events and productions in the entertainment industry
The actor Miles Tellerknown for his characters in the series ‘Divergents’ and ‘Top Gun’, was one of the victims of the fire that devastated the Pacific Palisades region, in Los Angeles, California. The actor’s residence, acquired in 2023 for approximately US$7.5 million, was located between the Palisades Village shopping center and Palisades Bluffs park. According to information from the Daily Mail, the property was severely hit.

The fire, which started in Pacific Palisades, was worsened by strong winds that made it difficult to control the flames. Since the early hours of January 8, firefighters have been working to contain the fire, but the situation remains critical. More than 100,000 people have already left the city, and at least five deaths have been recorded.
Experts warn that the current winds could be the most intense in the last decade, further increasing the impact of the flames. The situation continues to be monitored by the authorities, who reinforce requests for preventive evacuations and the collaboration of residents.

The fires in Los Angeles caused cancellations and postponements of several productions and cultural events. Other productions such as ‘Better Man’, ‘Lobisomem’ and ‘Unstoppable’ also had their premieres postponed.
The Critics Choice Awards, initially scheduled for Sunday, January 12th, was rescheduled for the 26th. The announcement of the 2025 Oscar nominees, which was scheduled for January 17th, was also postponed until the 19th.
