With the last day of the year getting closer, check out the RECREIO editorial team’s favorite k-pop debuts in 2024
For many people, the last days of the year serve as a time of reflection, where we remember everything we experienced in the past 12 months, including good times, bad times, and remembering your favorite events.
In the k-pop universe, the year 2024 was responsible for bringing fans the return of countless artists extremely loved by the public, including comebacks from names like TWICE, SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, Red Velvet, NewJeans and much more, as well as surprising reunions , like those of 2NE1 and BIGBANG.
Much more than the return of groups and soloists that are already recognized in the industry, the last year also saw the debut of groups and soloists that caught the world’s attention.
To mark the end of the year, the RECREIO editorial team put together a list of our six favorite debuts of 2024. Check it out!
BABYMONSTER — SHEESH
On April 1st, BABYMONSTER made their official debut and first release with all seven members with the track “SHEESH”, the title track from the mini-album “BABYMONS7ER” which features a super infectious chorus and choreography.
TWS — plot twist
Called by many as the “little brothers of SEVENTEEN”, TWS has already conquered a huge legion of fans with “plot twist”, their debut track released on January 22nd. In addition to being successful on the charts, the song went viral in the industry, being reproduced by several other artists.
ILLIT — Magnetic
Another debut that also went viral among idols and on social media was “Magnetic”, by ILLIT, BeLift Lab’s first girl group. Formed by Wonhee, Minju, Moka, Iroha and Yunahthe group debuted on March 25th.
KATSEYE — Debut
HYBE’s new global girl group, KATSEYE was formed through the survival program “The Debut: Dream Academy”, consisting of Sofia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae. His debut took place on June 28th with the infectious single “Debut”.
ARTMS — Virtual Angel
Composed of five members of LOONA, Haseul, Jinsoul, Heejin, Kimlip and choerryARTMS made their official debut on May 31st with the electrifying song “Virtual Angel”, the title track from the album “
Tzuyu — Run Away
In 2024, Tzuyuthe maknae of TWICE, became the third member of the girl group to debut as a soloist. The idol released the captivating “Run Away”, the title track from her album “abouTZU” on September 9th.
