Chinese ENHYPEN fans call for Jungwon to leave the group

In early December, rumors emerged on the internet pointing to a supposed relationship between Jungwonleader of ENHYPEN, and Wintera member of aespa, after an internet user released a video claiming to have seen the artists together in a bar in South Korea.

The information, however, was soon denied by the companies responsible for the singers, BeLift Lab and SM Entertainment, respectively. Furthermore, during a live on the Weverse platform held on December 12, Jungwon made a point of speaking out on the matter, saying that he is not dating, and that “these people [que enviaram as fotos] will deal with the consequences.”

In the same broadcast, the idol also clarified other rumors that had repercussions at the same time, where he was accused of smoking. “There’s something about smoking and I don’t smoke either. I don’t know how the people who posted that will deal with the consequences later, but I’m not dating and I don’t smoke. This is ridiculous. aigooo~”, said the singer.

Due to these recent controversies, Jungwon has been the target of negative reactions from some fans. As reported by the Koreaboo portal, recently, Chinese fans of ENHYPEN created a campaign to ask for the artist’s departure from the group, sending mass emails to HYBE requesting the singer’s removal, under the threat of a boycott.

The model letter used for sending was shared via the Weibo platform, where Chinese fans claim that the situation with the idol “has greatly disappointed and angered fans, especially Chinese ones”, and that they are “strongly protesting against the way how your company handled the matters.”

In the demands present in the email, fans ask for the following topics: “Announce Yang Jungwon’s official departure from the group or an indefinite hiatus in group activities; Ask Yang Jungwon to personally confirm the relationship and apologize for this matter and provoke fans; and Your company should publicly clarify and officially apologize for creating negative polls and threads for other group members on Chinese social media platforms.”

The letter further says:

“If your company does not handle the matter in a satisfactory and timely manner, we will be forced to continue our protest in various ways through different platforms. If the issue is not resolved reasonably, Chinese fans will not be able to continue to support the group. If If we do not receive a response to our demands, we will permanently cease our support of ENHYPEN, including future album sales and related activities.”

Chinese fans continue to say, “From now on, individual members’ fan accounts will announce a halt to future album group orders, expressing our dissatisfaction and condemnation. We sincerely ask your company to treat fans’ demands seriously and resolve the issue quickly with effective actions. Please understand that this not only involves the dissatisfaction of certain fans, but also the fandom’s demands for the respect and trust of the group and the company. I look forward to the company’s quick response. and the appropriate solution for the matter!” So ​​far, HYBE and BeLift Lab have not yet commented on the matter.
